ABOUT US

Elkins Architects: that Build | Architect & Builder | Chippenham: Wiltshire
As a small company, currently 6 in the office and 15 onsite, we offer a personal service and as architects, you can expect to be working with Nick, Rob & Rich throughout the process. Unlike most design & build firms, we are architects who have our own directly employed, highly skilled, building team. We are not builders who employ a designer to do drawings. This gives us much greater control to ensure the highest design and construction standards are maintained throughout the project. Both disciplines are combined to allow a balanced design, based on the integrity of the aesthetic and the available budget. We as yet have not had to ‘value engineer’ a project because we design to a budget and stick to it.

The main emphasis of our past work, is bespoke residential property. This includes new builds and renovations, however, we our previous work also ranges from  office blocks to tree houses, and schools to factories. We pride ourselves on being able to identify the hidden potential of any space.

Around half of the 500+ schemes we have designed have been constructed by our own workforce, supplemented where necessary by specialist subcontractors and craftsmen. Take a look at our projects page to see a small selection of our favourite schemes.

Should our construction team be fully committed, or should you have a preferred contractor, we can offer a range of follow on services; including contract administration and project management.
